Sounds more like fuel starvation. When things go wrong, look at what happened last. Bike sat all winter? Started in the spring, drove 9km then trouble? Check fuel cap for good venting, check gas for water, dirt, rust, sediment etc. May have gotten into jets in carburetor also. Check air filter for clogging, dirt, mouse nest, bugs. When machinery sits around, all kinds of things happen.
